Bikepacking

A few times a year I pack up the bike for a multi-day bikepacking trip — self-supported, sticking to unpaved roads as much as possible.

Trail running

On the trails around The Hague and the dunes, trail running is my favorite way to move — the fastest way to feel far from everything without going far at all.

Woodworking

In my workshop I build furniture and other wooden objects. It's the opposite of software: everything is irreversible, so you think twice before you cut.

Sourdough baking

My sourdough starter is older than many of my software projects. I find fermentation fascinating, and baking bread is, every time, a bit of applied magic.
