Rob Reimert
Welcome to my personal website! I'm Rob Reimert, a Software & Geospatial Data Engineer based in The Hague, and I love working with geospatial data. Ever since I was little, I slept with an atlas beside my bed. I build software where geodata, machine learning, and the energy transition come together, but I also build automation software.
My path started in economics, with a focus on econometrics: a master's at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and years as an econometrician at the American consultancy NERA Economic Consulting and the AFM (the Dutch financial markets regulator), building forecasting models and data pipelines for financial oversight. At NERA I already built a few ad-hoc geodata solutions — where the seed for geodata & GIS was planted. At novasole I specialized further in geodata and computer vision for solar-energy applications. Now, as a software engineer at Sobolt, I build high-performance computation engines and applications — including zonnedakje.nl — that turn satellite and geodata into usable insight for the energy transition.

The Zambia Revenue Authority is Zambia's tax authority. As part of a knowledge-exchange project, I helped set up a Data Science team and develop a risk model.
